Baby Project: Cutie Baby Booties!

Just finished these cute baby booties yesterday! My first attempt at crocheting baby booties, so I'm glad they turned out ok. Now on to the next crochet project!

 

Since it was my first time doing baby booties, I definitely needed a pattern. I didn't want to just wing it like I usually do, so I used this pattern from the Repeat Crafter Me blog. It's a good pattern, the first time I didn't have to change anything! I followed the pattern exactly, and it came out just like I wanted. I might attempt another one later on but rework the pattern to try to make it smaller for smaller babies, we'll see.

 

Newest Baby Project

So I thought I'd share a bit about what I've been up to as far as our newest DIY project. I posted one time on Facebook asking friends to donate their old jeans to me for a new project, and within one weeks time, this is what I got! This is the back of my car with the seats taken up, and the car is completely FULL of jeans and huge denim swatches. I really have to thank one friend in particular, whose company had a bunch of extra fabric samples and ALL denim. Most of these bags are from him =). I've also had great contributions from other friends and fans, so all in all, a TON of jeans. I was worried about not having enough, and now I'm thinking that anything that I need to make for the house and the family for the next 4 years will probably have to be denim...ack!

 

So after sorting through a bag of the swatches, I started cutting stacks and stacks of these:

  This is only a tiny percentage of the amount I've done, which I put aside just for the sake of the photo. After cutting and also cutting some of hub's old t-shirts, started stacking and sewing them together into fabric flowers. Ok, that's all I have to show for now, will keep everyone updated!

20 Weeks!

Happy 20 weeks to me and baby! Since we're in NJ now, I can't do my usual chalkboard update, so I decided to make do with the bathroom shower door and a dry erase marker. I really am popping out more and more. Soon I'll have an un-ignorable bump. After eating a bit of Popeye's on Thursday, a bit of Taco Bell yesterday, the belly may come sooner than later haha.
